Lloyds Somers Workshop Maintenance Equipment is designed and manufactured at our facilities in the U.K. and supplied to Rail Depots and Rolling Stock Manufacturers around the world. Somers have over 30 years of experience in the supply of purpose designed Workshop Equipment specifically for use in the Rail Industry.

Products include Lifting Jacks, Bogie Drop Systems, Bogie Rotators, Scissor & Manipulation Tables, Carriage Traversers, Lifting Beams, Reaction Brackets, Stands, Access Platforms, Pit Decking, Accommodation Bogies (with or without built in carriage lifting facilities) and Commutator Turning Equipment.

Bogie Drop Systems have been developed for the removal and replacement of bogies from locomotives and carriages without the need for uncoupling whilst utilising the often limited workshop floor space within a Depot.

Somers Bogie Rotators can be supplied in capacities ranging from 6 Tonnes up to 25 Tonnes per pair of machines. The units are easily coupled to the bogie chassis via purpose designed interface brackets and incorporate both the lift and rotate facilities whilst providing the additional benefit that they are mobile and can be used in various locations throughout the Depot.

All products adhere to the relevant design and safety standards and designed in accordance with the requirements of the Machinery Directive to facilitate CE marking.
